This Website is provided “as is,” with all faults, and Cardies express no representations or warranties, of any kind related to this Website or the materials contained on this Website. Also, nothing contained on this Website shall be interpreted as advising you.

In no event shall Cardies, nor any of its officers, directors and employees, shall be held liable for anything arising out of or in any way connected with your use of this Website whether such liability is under contract. Cardies, including its officers, directors and employees shall not be held liable for any indirect, consequential or special liability arising out of or in any way related to your use of this Website.
Indemnification
You hereby indemnify to the fullest extent Cardies from and against any and/or all liabilities, costs, demands, causes of action, damages and expenses arising in any way related to your breach of any of the provisions of these Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid under any applicable law, such provisions shall be deleted without affecting the remaining provisions herein.
Variation of Terms
Cardies is permitted to revise these Terms at any time as it sees fit, and by using this Website you are expected to review these Terms on a regular basis.
Assignment
The Cardies is allowed to assign, transfer, and subcontract its rights and/or obligations under these Terms without any notification. However, you are not allowed to assign, transfer, or subcontract any of your rights and/or obligations under these Terms.
Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between Cardies and you in relation to your use of this Website, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of za, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in za for the resolution of any disputes.
- You will be required to provide certain information, in order to purchase Products that are displayed on our website, which may including personal information. Please refer to our Privacy Policy on our website to view how we process and use your personal information.
- Use of our website confirms your understanding and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, and you will be bound by these T&C’s during all transactions relating to the purchase of Products from our website.
- Prices displayed on our website are subject to change without notice. Prices will include tax, where this is required by country legislation.
- Orders placed may be declined or cancelled in the event of Products being out of stock, damaged Products, incorrect Product information, incorrectly displayed prices, and due to payment for Products not being received or payments not being authorized by Cardies. In this circumstance, if an order has been cancelled where credit card has been the method of payment the amount will automatically be refunded back to the credit card.
- We will notify you as soon as we can if any Items Ordered are not available (this may take a few days, depending on the delivery and payment method method).
- Once you have selected your payment method, you will be directed to a link to a secure site for payment of the applicable purchase price for the Goods.
- Minimum order value is R50.00 (Fifty Rand)
Our picking, packing and delivery is linked to what you order and where you want it delivered. Estimates are provided below to help you shop, but always check your order’s Estimated Delivery Date during checkout for the most accurate delivery information.
Standard Delivery
- Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria 2-5 working days
- Regional Area 2-6 working days
- Remote Area 3-7 working days
- If you or your recipient lives somewhere far away and exotic that falls into our extended areas list, the delivery may take between one and two extra days to be delivered.
- Because each day is unique and we can never predict what awaits us, we unfortunately can’t guarantee delivery times. We understand that hours may turn to days when you’re waiting to get your parcel, so we ask for your patience with each delivery! If our drivers need to take a road trip to get to the door of your choice, we may charge an additional delivery fee if it is outside of our normal delivery range.
- Our deliveries will take place from 9am until 5pm from Monday to Friday.
- We’re all about sharing and unexpected surprises, but because we like to make your day or that of the correct recipient, we unfortunately can’t leave deliveries unattended at the recipient’s front door. We will, however, try our best to deliver at reception, receiving, security or a neighbour if they aren’t available.
Our normal delivery procedure is to give the recipient a call when we are at or near the specified address. If we can’t get hold of the recipient, we’ll call the sender. If we can’t get hold of the recipient or the sender, we reserve the right to re-attempt delivery at a later stage.
Because we’ve got to put petal to the metal to ensure all our deliveries are made on time, our drivers are only able to wait for a recipient for a limited amount of time.
Our standard delivery fee is R75.00 for orders under the basket value of R850.00
Although seldom charged, we do reserve the right to charge a 15% handling fee plus delivery if the address provided is incorrect or incomplete; if you’ve changed your mind and wish to cancel or change your order when the gift has already left our warehouse, or if the recipient needs to exchange the item for something else.
If you wish to request a refund for a specific item/s and not the entire basket, before the parcel has been dispatched, and this request reduces the value of your basket below the required amount to qualify for FREE DELIVERY, we reserve the right to add the charge of the standard delivery fee for the delivery of the remaining items ordered.

Card transactions will be acquired for Cardies via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African acquiring Banks. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.
- Payment is subject at all times to Cardies’s agreements with its bankers and the outsourced financial transactions service provider.
- You may pay for your online orders and delivery costs using several payment options:We subscribe to high security and encryption standards allowing all Customers to shop with peace of mind. We have taken all reasonable security measures to ensure that payment and card details, as well as related confidential information, cannot be accessed by anyone who is not authorized to do so.
When placing your order, and proving the required personal details, including your payment card details you warrant that you are authorised to make payment with the payment card and that there are enough funds available to pay for your order.
Cardies gift voucher:
- Payment using a valid gift voucher is subject to the available amount stated on your gift voucher.
- Gift vouchers are valid for six (6) months from the issue date. Should the total amount for your Order (including delivery) exceed the amount of funds on your gift voucher you may add a second payment method to pay for the balance of the amount due.

Customer details separate from card details
Customer details will be stored by Cardies separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za.
Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
The provision of goods and services by Cardies is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Cardies will refund the client in full within 30 days.
Standard Return Policy
We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not completely satisfied, you can return the product to us and we will either repair/replace it, or credit your account, subject to the below terms. This Policy applies to products bought from Cardies itself.
This Policy forms part of the Cardies Terms & Conditions, and so words defined in the Terms and Conditions have the same meaning in this Policy, unless the context indicates otherwise. Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit your statutory rights in any way.
Preparing your products for a return
To ensure your request is processed as quickly as possible you are responsible for the following when returning your products;
- package your products safely and securely for protection during transit;
- clearly mark your return reference number on the outside of the parcel; and
- include all accessories and parts that were sold with the product.
Failure to adhere to any of these requirements could delay the processing of your request or result in its decline altogether.
Unwanted products
You can return an unwanted product to us at no charge, provided:
- it is undamaged and unused, with the original labels and stickers still attached;
- it is not missing any accessories or parts;
- you log a return within 30 days of delivery to you or collection by you of the unwanted product. After 30 days, you can only return a product if it is defective; and
- it is not one of the products listed below.
Changed your mind?
Where you have changed your mind and would like a credit for a product, you can return it – provided the product is not:
- a digital product such as an eBook, electronic voucher, gaming code or other digital download;
- a beauty product or fragrance which has been used;
- an intimate product, lingerie, swimwear, bodysuit, underwear or jewellery for piercings, which for hygienic and public health reasons may not be returned; or
- a product which has been personalised for you or made to your specifications
We will arrange collection of the product from you at no charge. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will credit your account with the purchase price of the product within 10 days of the return (or refund you if that is your preference).
We are entitled to inspect the product to validate your return. Please refer to our FAQs for some advice on making sure that your product is returnable under this section.
Not what you ordered?
If we accidentally deliver the wrong product to you, or if the product is not as described on the Website, please notify us and we will collect the product from you at no charge.
Products damaged on delivery
Should a product be damaged or missing any parts or accessories at the time of delivery / collection, please notify us within 7 days of such delivery on www.cardies.co.za/contact
We will arrange to collect the product from you at no charge. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will at your choice repair / replace the product as soon as possible (if such repair is possible/ we have the same product in stock to use as a replacement) or credit your account with the purchase price of the product (or refund you if that is your preference).
Defective products
We do our best to ensure that the products we deliver to you are of a high quality, and in good working order and without defects.
What is a defect? A defect is a material imperfection in the manufacture of a product or any characteristic of a product, which makes the product less acceptable than one would reasonably be entitled to expect in the circumstances.
The following will NOT be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a return:
- faults resulting from normal wear and tear;
- damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product;
- damage arising from electrical surges or sea air corrosion;
- damage arising from a failure to adequately care for the product;
- damage arising from unauthorized alterations to the product;
- where the specifications of a product, although accurately described on the Website and generally fit for its intended purpose, do not suit you; and
- used products, signs of handling and/or repackaging.
There are two types of Coupons: a Coupon with a fixed amount of a discount, e.g. R100 off (“Fixed Coupon”), and a Coupon with a percentage discount, e.g. 10% off (“Percentage Coupon”).
- Cardies may from time to time make physical or electronic gift vouchers (“Gift Vouchers”) and promotional coupons or discounts (“Coupons”) available for use on the Website towards the purchase of Cardies Goods. Gift Vouchers and Coupons can only be redeemed while they are valid and their expiry dates cannot be extended. More specifically:
Gift Vouchers
- Gift Vouchers that are purchased by registered users are valid for 3 years after Sale. Gift Vouchers that Cardies gives away for free are valid for the period stated thereon. In each case, if your Voucher has not been used within that period, it will expire.
- Gift Vouchers cannot be used to buy other Gift Vouchers or Coupons. They do not accrue interest and are not refundable for cash once purchased or otherwise obtained. If your Gift Voucher value is less than the amount required to cover the full order you wish to place, you may make up the difference by paying via one of our other payment methods.
- Cardies is not responsible for any harm due to the loss, unauthorised use or unauthorised distribution of a Gift Voucher, after it has delivered the Gift Voucher to you or the email address nominated by you.
Coupons
- There are two types of Coupons; a Coupon with a fixed amount of a discount, e.g. R100 off (“Fixed Coupon“), and a Coupon with a percentage discount, e.g. 10% off (“Percentage Coupon“).
- Coupons are issued in Cardies’ sole discretion and we are entitled at any time to correct, cancel or reject a Coupon for any reason (including without limitation where a Coupon has been distributed in an unauthorised manner). Users do not have a right to Coupons, and Coupons cannot be earned. Coupons are issued under specific terms and conditions regulating when and how they may be used.
- As a general rule, and unless specified otherwise on the specific Coupon itself:
- each Coupon can only be used once;
- only one Coupon can be used per order;
- only one Coupon can be used on the Website per person per promotion/campaign;
- where a Percentage Coupon has been used and you wish to cancel any items in the order prior to making payment, the entire order must be cancelled. You will be issued with a new Percentage Coupon and will need to place the order again, without the item that you wished to cancel;
- a Coupon must be used at check-out – it cannot be used later on existing orders; and
- the value of the Coupon will be set off against the value of your shopping basket and the balance remaining, if any, will be payable by you.
- Coupons cannot be used to buy Gift Vouchers or other Coupons, and cannot be exchanged or refunded for cash or credit. Cardies is not responsible for any harm due to the loss, unauthorised use or distribution of a Coupon.
- If for any reason a Coupon does not reflect on the final amount due from you at check-out, you can contact us to confirm if the Coupon is still valid. If Cardies confirms that the Coupon is still valid and you have already placed your order, you can choose whether to cancel the order and place it again with the Coupon, or you can use the Coupon on your next order within the limitations of the specific Coupon’s terms and conditions.
- You may be required to submit the original communication containing the Coupon code, and any other information reasonably requested by Cardies, before you are able to use a Coupon.
The loyalty and rewards programme is only for the online store. You need to be a registered user on www.cardies.co.za to be able to participate in the programme.

Loyalty Rewards Terms and Conditions
- 100 points = R1.00
- Points can’t be used in conjunction with other coupons
- We have the right to reject your order if we believe there is foul play involved.
- Minimum Order value of R200 required to redeem points, and a minimum of R50 in discount value.
- Abuse on the pointing system will not be tolerated.
- If you cancel your order or request a refund after you redeemed your points available, we will refund the Rand amount for that item that was payable after redeeming your points and re-allocate your points for that item to your profile
Cardies takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.
This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Cardies chooses this as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of any nature whatsoever.
Other than the content you own, under these Terms, Cardies and/or its licensors own all the intellectual property rights and materials contained in this Website.
You are granted limited license only for purposes of viewing the material contained on this Website.
